Abstract
Keloid is a benign fibrous growth that usually occur after trauma in predisposed individuals. It extends beyond the confines of the original wound and tend to occur after excision. The etiology of keloid is not yet fully understood. However, a variety of genetic and environmental causes have been implicated in the pathogenesis of abnormal scars such as keloid and hypertrophic scars. Many treatment options have been proposed and practiced with limited success. The options include surgery, irradiation, silicone gel sheeting, laser, phamacological agents such as corticosteroid, vitamine A, asiaticoside, zinc oxide, and tranilast. We have experienced a case of earlobe keloid that had been treated by excision and adjuvant radiation therapy and have a good result. So, we report a case with review of literature.
